The RYA Coastal Skipper course teaches more advanced sailing techniques designed to prepare you to skipper more challenging and longer passages.
The 5-day RYA Coastal Skipper is the highest level of taught sailing courses, covering advanced navigation, preparation for longer passages, meteorology, night pilotage, man overboard recovery, watch keeping and preparation for sea.
During the course, students will take it in turns to skipper the yacht and practice the new skills that have been learned. Before joining the course tour boat handling should already be that of the RYA Day Skipper standard. If you are a little rusty, consider our 1-day boat handling course.
Join the yacht in Port Hamble Marina at 7pm on the evening before the course, (e.g Sunday 7pm) ready for a prompt Monday morning start. The course usually finishes about 4pm on the last Friday.
